Pertronix SVDA style vacuum advance electronic ignition distributor for 1950-79 Beetle, Karmann Ghia, Thing, Squareback, Notchback, Fastback, and Bus or Transporter. These will fit all carbureted VW Type 1, Type 2, and Type 3 air cooled engines.
We recommend the SVDA style vacuum advance distributor for all stock carburetor and engine applications. This carburetor advances ignition timing just off idle to help eliminate the common flat spot when using a 009 with stock engine and carbs.
Tech Tips: Must be used with 3 Ohm coil. Acceptable ohm ratings are 3-3.7 ohms, any less will cause issues with the ignition module. Common issues installing electronic ignitions are: wiring it backwards, or leaving the ignition on with the engine off overnight. Both of these will cause the module to stop operating normally.
